Why did you choose ENC?

“I chose ENC because when I visited in the fall while being recruited to play basketball, I felt at home and the community really welcomed me here, not just the athletic department but the entire school. Being so far from home in Oregon, I wanted a school that felt like a second home and ENC felt welcoming and created that atmosphere like a home.”

What is your favorite part about being a student at ENC?

“My favorite part about being a student at ENC is being a part of a family that obviously isn’t my family and feeling at home. I don’t really get home-sick even though I live 3,000 miles away in Oregon.”

What has been your favorite moment as a student-athlete at ENC?

“Probably my favorite moment so far was when we beat Roger Williams last year in the playoffs, upsetting them in the first round. The year before I arrived at ENC, Roger Williams beat ENC in the playoffs so it felt great to avenge that loss and upset them on their home court.”

What is the best part of the NCAA Division III experience?

“The best thing is that you are playing for the love of the game. There are no incentives are added bonuses, you are just playing because you love the sport. You are also surrounded by athletes who are also playing because they want to be there not because they are receiving scholarships or just trying to reach the pros.”

This summer you had an internship with the NBA’s Portland Trailblazers. How did grow from this experience and what did you learn?

“I was a youth development basketball coach for the Portland Trailblazers organization. That meant that I coached at any basketball camps that were affiliated with the Trailblazers. I was able to interact with the Portland metro area youth community such as the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs. It really helped me grow because I learned a new way to interact with people and also how to lead in different types of ways.”

Do you have any pre-game superstitions?

“During the national anthem, I always say a prayer.”

Tell me something about you that people might not know.

“When I was 12 and 13, I attended the Duke University Basketball Camp and had the opportunity to play at Cameron Indoor Stadium where the Blue Devils play and meet Coach K. I won the three-point shooting contest at the camp and beat out 900 campers."
