QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team stormed past Lesley 3-0 before topping Fisher 3-0 Saturday afternoon at the Lahue Physical Education Center.
The Lions elevate to 17-5 on the season and remain unbeaten in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action at 7-0. The Lynx slip to 5-17 on the year and 2-6 in league matches with the results while the Falcons move to 14-9 overall.
Jenna Meacham (Millington, Mich.) posted a team-best 15 kills on the day to go with 13 digs. Rebecca Thorne (Quincy, Mass.) finished with 14 kills and a pair of blocks. Ruth Aguilar (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) notched 31 assists and dealt six aces while Samantha Caldwell (Quincy, Mass.) registered 25 assists. Jessica Caldwell (Quincy, Mass.) scooped up 20 digs in the two matches and Rebecca Ashman (Havre de Grace, Md.) added 17 digs with seven kills.
In the opening match of the day, Eastern Nazarene blanked Lesley to collect its seventh-straight conference victory.
The Lions rolled to a 25-6 win in the first set to grab a 1-0 lead in the contest.
The hosts expanded their advantage to 2-0 with a 25-14 decision in the second frame.
Eastern Nazarene cruised to a 25-10 victory in the third to lock up the league win over the Lynx.
The Lions capped off the day with a straight-sets win over Fisher, 3-0.
The home side captured the first frame 25-14 to establish a 1-0 advantage.
Eastern Nazarene edged the Falcons 25-22 in the second to stretch the margin to 2-0.
The Lions prevailed 25-17 in the third set to secure their fourth-consecutive victory.
