MANSFIELD, Mass.- Senior Anthony Castrogiovanni (Bohemia, N.Y.) of the Eastern Nazarene College baseball team has been selected to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Del Malloy Sportsmanship Team, announced the league office Wednesday.
This spring, he scored one run and drew a walk in three games played. In two seasons with the program, Castrogiovanni saw action in 13 contests and recorded three career base hits, including one double, while driving in one RBI and scoring four runs.
"Anthony came to work every day ready to put in effort and get better. He was always looking to improve," commented head coach Chris Shank.
The Lions compiled an 8-3 overall record in 2020 with victories over Wentworth, Plymouth State, Manhattanville, York (Pa.), Hilbert, and Johnson & Wales (R.I.).
The Del Malloy Sportsmanship team recognizes student-athletes who uphold the fundamental values of NECC sportsmanship; respect, fairness, civility, honesty, and responsibility. These values should be manifested not only in athletics participation, but also in the broad spectrum of activities affecting their program on campus.
