NORTH QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team dropped a 6-1 decision to Wentworth Saturday afternoon at Creedon Field.
The Lions slide to 0-15-0 on the season and 0-8-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the setback. The Leopards climb to 8-7-2 overall and 4-2-2 in league action with the win.
The visitors established an early 1-0 lead less than one minute into the match. Griffin Price buried his team-leading 12th goal of the season off of an assist by Michael Zendan.
The home team responded with an equalizer in the second minute of the contest. Sebastian Arboleda (Barranquilla, Colombia) lasered a right-footed shot into the back of the net from outside of the box for his first tally of the year.
Wentworth regained a one-goal edge in the sixth minute, 2-1. Joe Kalil knocked in a corner kick delivered into the box by Emmett Basaca to notch his second goal of the season.
The Leopards widened the gap to 3-1 in the 13th minute. Noah Martins netted his fifth marker of the year after a threaded pass by Diego Panayotti.
Eastern Nazarene managed three shots in the opening stanza while Wentworth produced 19 attempts.
The guests extended their lead to 4-1 in the 49th minute as Panayotti bagged his first tally of the season off of an assist by Price.
The Leopards tacked on their fifth score of the match in the 55th minute. Basaca converted a penalty kick to collect his third goal of the fall.
Wentworth capped off the scoring in the 84th minute on a goal by Alexis Reinoso after Cameron Pacheco's cross setup the strike.
The Lions finished the game with three shots while the Leopards racked up 33 chances.
