NEW YORK, N.Y.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team wrapped up its trip to the "Big Apple" with a 3-0 loss to John Jay before rebounding for a 3-0 win over Mount St. Vincent Saturday afternoon.
With the results, the Lions move to 2-1 on the young season. The Bulldogs improve to 1-0 overall while the Dolphins slide to 0-1.
Rookie Arthur Kossoski (Malden, Mass.) notched 14 kills and eight digs to lead the team on the day. Samuel Cueva (Swampscott, Mass.) posted 11 kills and four blocks. James Hoopes (Lenexa, Kan.) finished with eight blocks and six kills while James Garofalo (Commack, N.Y.) tallied nine kills and eight digs. Brandon Jenkins (Norton, Mass.) recorded 40 assists in the two matches while adding five digs, a pair of blocks, and one service ace. Sunil Lepcha (Charlotte, N.C.) collected 15 digs on the day to pace the squad defensively.
In the first match of the day, Eastern Nazarene suffered a 3-0 setback to John Jay.
The Lions dropped the opening set 25-16 as the home side grabbed a 1-0 lead.
The Bulldogs claimed the second frame 25-20 to widen the margin to 2-0.

The Lions capped off the afternoon with a rolled past Mount St. Vincent in straight sets.
Eastern Nazarene captured a 1-0 advantage with a 25-21 victory in the first set.
The Lions cruised to a 25-12 win in the second frame to extend their lead to 2-0.
Eastern Nazarene edged Mount St. Vincent 25-23 in the third to complete the sweep.
