Men’s Cross Country Finishes Fourth at Mass. Maritime Invitational

BUZZARD'S BAY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's cross country team ran to a fourth-place finish Saturday at the 12th Annual Lt. Travis Fuller Invitational hosted by the Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

Senior Greg Whitney (Henniker, N.H.) led the Lions with a time of 24:27 to take sixth place.

Kevin Rop (Silver Springs, Md.) crossed the finish line in 30:48 while Andrew Shaw (Weymouth, Mass.) covered the 7K course in 32:26.

Brandon Russ (Warren, Pa.) posted a mark of 34:01 and Javon Winfield (Baltimore, Md.) finished in 37:25.

The host Buccaneers captured the team crown after placing eight in the top-10, including the top five finishers. Jake MacVarish set a new course record with a time of 23:33 to claim the individual title.

Up next, Eastern Nazarene will compete in the Westfield State Invitational October 8.
