LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The reigning New England Collegiate Conference champion Eastern Nazarene College softball team garnered a program-record seven Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, as the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) recognized over 8,000 student-athletes for academic success in 2018-19.
Meghan Stanley (Bedford, Mass.) was honored for the fourth-straight year while Rebecca Ashman (Havre de Grace, Md.) and Rebecca Hayner (Halfmoon, N.Y.) both earned the distinction for the second year in a row. Lauren Clements (Garrison, Texas), Tylan Onorato (Wiscassett, Maine), Dominique Santos (Lancaster, Calif.), and Elisabeth Schaffer (Benton, Pa.) all picked up their first career honors.
Ashman, Hayner, Santos, Schaffer, and Stanley were all tabbed to the New England Collegiate Conference All-Academic Team last spring.
In head coach Dani Bishop's four years at the helm of the program, the Lions have received 19 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete accolades.
The Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete program recognizes the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. NCAA Division III led the way with 1,928 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher during the 2018-19 academic year.
